Black Swamp Football is proud to announce the addition of live broadcasts of area football games starting with the 2022 prep campaign.
Tory Strock will handle play-by-play and Karl Yunker will provide color commentary. Audio of their calls will be streamed live on blackswampfootball.com.
“When Tory presented to me the idea of broadcasting games with Karl, it was a dream come true,” explained Black Swamp Football owner and publisher Lynn Groll. “I’m ecstatic because they will be bringing a professional and knowledgeable broadcast to listeners.”
Strock, a Liberty Center graduate and quarterback for Hall of Fame coach Rex Lingruen, recently retired as head coach at Napoleon High after 14 years. He also coached at Leipsic and Lima Central Catholic.
Strock has experience calling live play-by-play for Putnam County and OHSAA state tournament basketball games.
“To say that I am excited would be an understatement,” stated Strock. “The opportunity to expand Black Swamp Football’s coverage to include live broadcasts is something I am ecstatic about. In addition, working with Karl Yunker is going to be a blast. I can assure you that we will work very hard to deliver a quality product week in and week out.”
Yunker served as an assistant on Strock’s staff during his tenure leading the Wildcats. Yunker is a graduate of Swanton High School, where he played for Hall of Fame coach David Hansbarger. He later served as an assistant for four years for Hansbarger. Yunker also assisted for three years at Paulding under Steve Clark and at Napoleon for Lynn Schrickel and Mike Burke.
Yunker spent 10 years as color analyst for Napoleon’s 103.1 WNDH football radio broadcasts with legendary play-by-play voice Dave Kleck. Yunker presently covers wrestling for WNDH, which he has done since 1998. In 2016, Yunker was presented the Media Service Award at the Ohio Wrestling Championships.
“I am both excited and humbled to be working live broadcasts for Black Swamp Football,” explained Yunker. “Black Swamp’s dedication to high school football in the area is unmatched, and to be a part of it is quite an honor. I am equally excited to be working with Tory Strock, who has a passion for high school football like no other. Our commitment will be to bring an in-depth, fun product to high school fans.”
More details of the 2022 broadcast schedule will be released later this year.
“I guarantee the preparation and the product that Tory and Karl deliver to listeners will be first-class,” said Groll. “I’m honored and humbled to have them both join the Black Swamp Football team.”
