Ayersville and Tinora set for 46th tussle

The 46th annual River Bowl tussle between heated rivals Ayersville and Tinora will take place on the south side of the Maumee River this fall with the Rams making the short trek to Craig McCord Field.
Ayersville’s once hefty lead in the series has been shrunk to 24-20-1 with Tinora enjoying much more success as the series grows older.
Tinora head coach Kenny Krouse is heading into his 24th meeting with the Pilots and holds a 16-7 mark as headman of the Rams against the team across the river.

Pilots hosting Bluffton in battle of 2-0 clubs

Bluffton will invade Ayersville on Friday in a matchup of two teams seeking 3-0 starts going into conference play next week.
The Pilots own victories of 27-12 over Delta and 33-26 over Delphos Jefferson.
Ayersville headman Chris Dales believes his team took strides in the right direction last week in Delphos.
“Without a doubt,” explained Dales. “Against a very talented team. We were up 7-6 at halftime, but didn’t play that well in the first half. Came out after making a few adjustments at halftime and played really, really well the third quarter. We had to hold on because their quarterback got rolling.”
