A rematch will usher in the first round of the Division VII, Region 26 playoffs on Friday night when GMC foes Ayersville and Edgerton collide in Williams County.
Edgerton (3-3) is seeded 14th in the region while Ayersville (2-4) comes in as the 19th seed.
The victor will advance to play at third-seeded Lima Perry next Friday.
“The region as a whole is a difficult region,” explained Edgerton first-year headman Brody Flegal. “There are a lot of solid programs throughout northwest Ohio in this region. It’s very difficult to seed teams based on 5 games. Regardless, we have playoff football and we are excited about the opportunity.”
