Edon has first TAAC title in sights

Edon will play for its first TAAC crown Friday night when the Bombers host Ottawa Hills.
The Bombers (8-1, 2-0 TAAC) had two TAAC games canceled with COVID issues at Northwood and Montpelier shelving games against Edon.
Ottawa Hills is 2-1 in TAAC play while Cardinal Stritch is 3-1 and Northwood is 2-1.

Edon storms back from 21-8 deficit in final quarter to beat Fort Loramie, 24-21

EDON – Edon put together a fourth-quarter uprising to storm back for a 24-21 triumph over Fort Loramie on Friday night.
“Some kid on the other team when they went up 21-8 said, ‘bye bye,’” said Edon lineman Cassius Hulbert. “I took that personally. I got my team riled up on the sideline and said we had to do this now or it’s not going to happen.”
The Bombers (5-1) stopped the Redskins (2-4) on four plays inside the Edon 10 in the final minute to preserve the victory.
Meanwhile, the Bomber offense overcame a mistake–prone first three quarters to score twice in the final stanza.

Fort Loramie another big test for Bombers

Another major non-conference test awaits a 4-1 Edon squad this Friday with Fort Loramie coming to town.
The Bombers have had to make adjustments to their schedule the previous two weeks due to COVID concerns with their opponents. Edon fell, 45-44, at No. 5 Norwalk St. Paul (D-VII) two weeks ago in place of Northwood before capturing a 52-32 win over Whiteford, Mich. last week. The Bobcats entered the game ranked No. 2 in Michigan’s Division 8.
The Redskins will be the third straight challenge for Bob Olwin’s bunch.

Schedule switch for Edon, Bombers to tangle with traditional power St. Paul

Edon will continue with non-conference action this Friday in place of the scheduled TAAC opener with Northwood due to the Rangers dealing with COVID-19 issues within the program.
Instead of traveling to the TAAC power on Friday, the 3-0 Bombers will travel to Norwalk on Saturday to face traditional small-school power St. Paul, which also stands at 3-0.
The Bombers and Flyers actually faced off two years ago in the first round of the playoffs at St. Paul, as the Flyers posted a 35-21 victory.
