Playoff preview: Miamisburg at Findlay
TOLEDO – A 19th consecutive TRAC victory for Greg Dempsey’s football machine at Central Catholic came in dominating fashion on Friday night.
However, the 41 points the Irish put up came in a very different fashion than what Central is accustomed to – from the air not the land.
The Irish put up 354 yards against Findlay in a 41-6 romp, with 245 coming from Central’s prolific passing attack.
Following a rough-as-nails non-league slate, a 1-2 Central Catholic team will welcome in 2-1 Findlay for Friday’s TRAC opener at Gallagher Stadium.
“It’s like any non-league, there are going to be things you’re happy with and things you’re unhappy with,” said Central frontman Greg Dempsey. “The first thing I’m unhappy with is our record. I don’t care who you’re playing, you want to win football games and we came up short the first two weeks.”
Lynn Groll, Tony Haynes and Andrew Mickey look back at week 3, hand out Offensive Player of the Week to Otsego’s Trent Leiter and co-Blockhead of the Week to Leiter and Columbus Grove’s AJ Schafer.
